Organ Practices.
Traditional Daoyin maps movement, breath, and sound onto the major internal organs. The practice is less about anatomy and more about influencing internal states associated with each organ system.
The five organs
- Lungs — breath capacity, grief, release.
- Heart — circulation, joy, coherence.
- Spleen — digestion, dwelling, transformation.
- Liver — flow, anger, free movement of energy.
- Kidneys — depth, fear, reserve and will.
How to read this
Traditional categories should not be taken as biomedical claims. They are practical maps that have organized Chinese health practice for centuries, and they remain useful as targets for breath, movement, and attention.
