Overload

This is what it feels like when your system is carrying more than it can integrate.

Does this sound familiar

  • mentally active but physically drained
  • too many open loops at once
  • small decisions feel disproportionately heavy
  • rest doesn't fully restore you
  • you keep pushing but capacity is shrinking

What's happening

Input is arriving faster than your system can process and integrate.

Some layers are overactive while others are under-supported.

The result is pressure without resolution — load without recovery.

What to do next

If this feels mild

Reduce the rate of incoming load.

  • close open loops before opening new ones
  • slow decision frequency
  • simplify attention to one thing at a time

If this feels moderate

Lower stimulation and restore regulation.

  • reduce input — screens, conversation, ambient noise
  • ground through breath, body, or slow movement
  • remove non-essential demands for the rest of the day

If this feels intense

Stop adding input. Stabilize first.

  • stop adding new input entirely
  • stabilize the environment — light, sound, temperature
  • return to basic regulation: sleep, rest, safety
