Overload
This is what it feels like when your system is carrying more than it can integrate.
Does this sound familiar
- mentally active but physically drained
- too many open loops at once
- small decisions feel disproportionately heavy
- rest doesn't fully restore you
- you keep pushing but capacity is shrinking
What's happening
Input is arriving faster than your system can process and integrate.
Some layers are overactive while others are under-supported.
The result is pressure without resolution — load without recovery.
What to do next
If this feels mild
Reduce the rate of incoming load.
- close open loops before opening new ones
- slow decision frequency
- simplify attention to one thing at a time
If this feels moderate
Lower stimulation and restore regulation.
- reduce input — screens, conversation, ambient noise
- ground through breath, body, or slow movement
- remove non-essential demands for the rest of the day
If this feels intense
Stop adding input. Stabilize first.
- stop adding new input entirely
- stabilize the environment — light, sound, temperature
- return to basic regulation: sleep, rest, safety
